Today I was reminiscing about our first house, a cute little white farmhouse with red shutters built in 1920. If we were still there it would have been 100 years old! I loved that house, and I loved the seven acres we enjoyed to start my horse training business. We outgrew that location, though, and moved to our current place after seven years in the farmhouse.

Here is the sketch I drew from the reference photo on my tablet. The reference photo is one I took with a regular camera when we lived there.
Filling in the background of sky and mountains, then adding in mid-ground of house and fencing. Lastly I drew in the trees in the foreground.
The finished piece, 9×12″ oil pastel on pastel paper. “Our First House in Snow”
